BEIRUT: Jordan’s Parliament unanimously agreed Wednesday to expel Israel’s ambassador, Petra news agency said.

Parliament unanimously voted that the Jordanian government demand that Israel’s ambassador in Amman leave the Kingdom in retaliation for Israeli measures against Al-Aqsa Mosque, Petra said.

The legislature also voted unanimously during the meeting chaired by Saad Hail Srour to send a request to the government demanding that Jordan’s Ambassador in Tel Aviv be pulled out, according to Petra.

It said Parliament tasked the Arab and International Affairs Committee to issue a "strongly worded statement regarding Israeli measures against Al-Aqsa mosque as well as Muslim and Christian holy places in Jerusalem."
