Russian Navy (BareyClass) Subs to Deployed in Russian North, Pacific Fleets

Borey Class Subs to be Deployed in Russian North, Pacific Fleets | Defense | RIA Novosti

Two Borey class strategic nuclear-powered submarines, the Yuri Dolgoruky and the Alexander Nevsky, will enter service with the Russian Navy, one with the North Fleet and the other with the Pacific Fleet, Anatoly Shlemov, head of defense contracts at the United Shipbuilding Corporation, said on Friday.

“The Alexander Nevsky will enter service with the Pacific Fleet, the main one, the Yuri Dolgoruky, with the North Fleet,” Shlemov said. The crews of the submarines will begin training exercises on the North Fleet and later the crew of the Alexander Nevsky will prepare to go by the Northern Sea Route for its further service in the Pacific Fleet. “Usually, this takes a year,” Shlemov said. The Borey class submarines are expected to constitute the core of the Russian strategic submarine fleet, replacing the aging Project 941 (NATO Typhoon class) and Project 667 class (Delta-3 and Delta-4) boats. Russia is planning to build eight Borey and Borey-A class subs by 2020. A Borey class strategic submarine is 170 meters (580 feet) long, has a hull diameter of 13 meters (42 feet), a crew of 107, including 55 officers, a maximum depth of 450 meters (about 1,500 feet) and a submerged speed of about 29 knots. All the Borey class strategic submarines will carry the Bulava ballistic missiles, up to 16 ballistic missiles with multiple warheads.

U.S.-S. Korea drill pushes Korean Peninsula to brink of war: DPRK ceremonial leader

U.S.-S. Korea drill pushes Korean Peninsula to brink of war: DPRK ceremonial leader - Xinhua | English.news.cn

TEHRAN, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) --The U.S.-South Korea joint military exercise pushes the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war, said the ceremonial leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea ( DPRK) at the 16th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit in the Iranian capital on Thursday. Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, said that the Korean Peninsula is one of the world's most tense regions and the ongoing exercise between the United States and South Korea will push the Peninsula to the verge of war. Recently, Americans have deployed many up-to-date weapons to the region, which threatens the DPRK, Kim said. South Korea and the United States are on a joint military exercise on Aug. 20 to 31, aiming to enhance defense readiness against potential security threats in the Korean Peninsula, according to military officials in Seoul. The DPRK will build war-deterrence forces to protect the country, and cooperate with any country dedicated to the unification of the Korean Peninsula, said the DPRK leader. He meanwhile also called for the members of the NAM to maintain solidarity, saying that the history of the NAM has proven that unity can bring success and division causes failure. The leader also emphasized that the Western sanctions imposed on Iran and Syria should be removed. Heads of state or government from over 100 countries participated in the two-day NAM summit, which opened in Tehran on Thursday.

UNESCO Director-General calls for an immediate halt to destruction of Sufi sites in Libya

UNESCO Director-General calls for an immediate halt to destruction of Sufi sites in Libya | United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization

UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova today expressed her grave concern over the destruction and desecration of Sufi shrines and libraries in Zliten, Misrata and Tripoli Libya. Ms Bokova called on the perpetrators to cease the destruction immediately. Referring to destruction at the Islamic Centre of Sheikh Abdussalam Al-Asmar in Zliten, the Mosque of SidiSha'ab in Tripoli, and at the Shrine of Sidi Ahmed Zaroug in Misrata, the Director-General said “destroying places of religious and cultural significance cannot be tolerated.” “I am deeply concerned about these brutal attacks on places of cultural and religious significance. Such acts must be halted, if Libyan society is to complete its transition to democracy. For this, we need dialogue and mutual respect. Libya’s future prospects depend on its inhabitants’ ability to build a participatory democracy that respects the rights and the heritage of all its citizens.” The Director-General urged the Libyan authorities and society at large to exercise their responsibility in protecting cultural heritage and sites of religious significance for future generations. Ms Bokova furthermore welcomed the Libyan government’s clear condemnation of the destruction of the sites and indicated that UNESCO stands ready to provide assistance to protect and rehabilitate them.

Iran denies plans to show nuclear sites to diplomats

Iran denies plans to show nuclear sites to diplomats

DUBAI (Reuters) -Iran said on Tuesday it has no plans to show its nuclear sites to diplomats visiting Tehran for this week's Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit, contradicting an earlier offer by a deputy foreign minister. "We have no specific plans for a visit to Iran's nuclear installations by foreign guests participating in the summit of NAM member countries," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said, state news agency IRNA reported. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Mehdi Akhoundzadeh hinted on Monday that Iran might let visiting NAM diplomats tour the Parchin military base, which the U.N. nuclear watchdog says may have been used for nuclear-related explosives experiments.

Western diplomats had dismissed the tentative offer, made shortly after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) again failed to gain access to Parchin for its inspectors at a meeting with an Iranian delegation in Vienna on Friday. "Any tour the Iranians conduct for visiting NAM officials would be nothing more than a very, very bad publicity stunt," a senior Western diplomat in Vienna told Reuters. "It is the IAEA that should have been given access to Parchin." Asghar Soltanieh, Iran's representative to the IAEA, reiterated his country's determination to keep enriching uranium. "We will not suspend enrichment for even one second," the Iranian Students' News Agency quoted him as saying.

> Enriched uranium can be used to fuel power stations, or, if processed further, for nuclear weapons. Akhoundzadeh also said on Monday that U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon, due in Tehran for the NAM summit, might be able to visit Iran's atom sites. Ban's spokesman denied any such plan. Iran is hosting the NAM summit, which ends on Friday, at a time when the West is trying to isolate the Islamic Republic over suspicions it is seeking a nuclear weapons capability. Tehran says its atomic programme has only peaceful aims. The IAEA suspects that Iran has conducted explosives tests in a steel chamber at Parchin relevant for the development of nuclear weapons, possibly a decade ago, and that it may have tried to cleanse the site in recent months. Egypt president names Copt and woman among assistance

BBC News -

Samir Murqus, a liberal Coptic writer, was named assistant for democratic transition, officials announced. Pakinam al-Sharkawi, who teaches political sciences at Cairo University, will be in charge of political affairs. During his election campaign Mr Mursi said he would appoint Copts among his advisers, possibly as vice-president. However, he named Mahmoud Mekki, a veteran judge who campaigned for judicial independence under Hosni Mubarak, as his deputy. Copts, who make up about 10% of Egypt's 82 million people, were also disappointed that the new cabinet includes only one Christian.

The two other assistants appointed on Monday are members of the two Islamist parties which dominated parliament before it was dissolved in June after a court found the election law had been unconstitutional. Imad Abdul Ghafour, the head of the ultraconservative Salafist Nour party, is in charge of relations with civil society, while Issam al-Haddad of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party, will look after external relations and international co-operation. Mr Mursi also named on Monday the first 17 members of his "presidential advisory team", with whom he will hold regular meetings. They include former presidential candidate Mohammed Salim al-Awwa, Muslim Brotherhood leader Essam al-Aryan, political expert Seif al-Din Abdul Fattah and writer Sekina Fouad.

Libya Islamists destroy Sufi artifacts

Via: Al Akhbar English

Conservative Islamists blew up the tomb of a 15th century Sufi scholar and burned down a library in the Libyan city of Zlitan, a military official said Saturday, the latest attacks on sites in the region branded idolatrous by some sects. The attackers used bombs and a bulldozer to destroy a complex of shrines that included the tomb of Abdel Salam al-Asmar Friday and ruined thousands of books at the Asmari Mosque library, said witnesses and Zlitan military council official Omar Ali. Hardliners, many of them emboldened by the Arab Spring revolts, have targeted a number of sites belonging to Islam's mystical Sufi tradition in Libya, Egypt and Mali over the past year. The assaults have also recalled the 2001 dynamiting by the Taliban of two 6th-century statues of Buddha carved into a cliff in Bamiyan in central Afghanistan. Friday's attacks followed two days of clashes between tribal factions in Zlitan which killed two people and injured 18, according to military council counts.

"The extremist Salafis took advantage (of the fact) that security officials were busy calming down the clashes and they desecrated the shrine," Ali told Reuters, referring to conservative Muslims who see many Sufi sites as idolatrous. (Reuters)

TRIPOLI, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) --The Justice and Construction (J&C) Party, political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood, announced its candidate for the prime minister in the new Libyan government on Saturday. Awad Barasi, now Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, will join the competition for the J&C Party, according to an official statement. "Mr. Barasi is a well-known political figure. We believe he is best suited to lead the coming transitional phase of the Libyan state, especially since his term in electricity ministry was marked by his wise leadership and responsible attitude. Despite all the difficulties, his ministry managed to provide electricity during the past and present periods," said Mohammed Sawan, chairman of the J&C Party. The J&C Party's main rival would be the National Forces Alliance (NFA), led by wartime Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril.

The NFA came first in Libya's parliamentary elections last month and won 39 seats in the national congress, while the J&C came second with 17 seats. The J&C is hoping to win over independent members in the congress to secure premiership.

ADL: ‘NAM Summit in Tehran is anti-Semitism’

Source: Rehmat's World ( http://rehmat1.com/ )

Abraham Foxman, head of pro-Israel Jewish lobby group. the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has criticized UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon’s decision to address the 16th Non-Alignment Movement (NAM) summit in Tehran (August 26-31); as an act of “anti-Israel, anti-American and anti-Semitism“. Hillary Clinton’s Zionist Jew spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told reporters on August 20, that Iran doesn’t have the right to host NAM summit. “So we frankly don’t think that Iran is deserving of these high-level presences that are going there,” she said. She also, criticized Egyptian president Dr. Mohamed Mursi’s decision to attend the NAM meeting in Tehran. Over 100 members countries of NAM have confirmed to attend the summit. Over 51 Presidents, Vice-presidents and Prime Ministers would be representing their countries. The notable guests will include Dr. Mohamed Morsi (Egypt), Hugo Chavez (Venezuela), Kim Jong-Nam (N. Korea), Evo Morales (Bolivia), Asif Ali Zardari (Pakistan), Jalal Talibani (Iraq), Omar al-Bashir (Sudan), Manmohan Singh (India), Emirs of Kuwait and Qatar, Hamid Karzai (US Occupied Afghanistan), Abdullah Gul (Turkey), Michel Sleiman (Lebanon), Elham Aliyev (Azerbaijan), Mahmoud Abbas (PA) and Raul Castro (Cuba). Iran will assume the rotating presidency of the NAM for the next three years.

Both the US and Israel has resented the decisions of Morsi and Abbas to attend the meeting. Israel’s foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman in a letter to the Mideast Quartet –the grouping of the US, Russia, the EU and the UN that guides the Middle East peace process –has called the removal of PA president Mahmoud Abbas, a double agent. He called Abbas “an obstacle to peace.” Abbas’ term as PA president expired in January 2009, but has been kept in that position by US-Israel-EU to stop Hamas taking over that position too. Israeli daily the Jerusalem Post reported on August 19 that “Israel is working through its embassies abroad and through direct conversations with various leaders to persuade other NAM countries – some of which have good ties with Israel –to either boycott the meeting or send only low-level representation to send a strong message to Iran of an abhorrence of its policies (toward the Zionist regime)“. Daniel Mariaschin, executive vice president of B’nai B’rith International, a Jewish supremacist organization, said he fears that Iranian presidency of NAM during the next three years –will boost delegitimation of Israel. In response to US-Israel blackmailing, Mohammad Kosari, member of the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy –has called Dr. Mursi’ visit to Iran as Zionist entity’s great failure. “Americans attempted to prevent Mr. Mursi’s visit to Iran, but the Egyptian president will visit Iran, which is interpreted as failure for the US“, while stressing: “The Zionist regime and the US plots can only be materialized through difference and discord among Muslim states“. Egyptian ambassador to the United Nations, Lebanese-born Mootaz Ahmadein Khalil, in an interview with China daily Xinhua, said that Ki-moon’s decision to attend the NAM summit in Iran has nothing to do with the illegal sanctions against the Islamic Republic. He hoped Iran, who will take over NAM’s rotating presidency from Egypt, will address the priorities of the movement and have a successful presidency that will reflect interests of all NAM member countries. Khalil called US claim ‘absurd’ –that the summit will boost Iran’s image among the world community.
y. He stressed that hosting of summit is the responsibility of the country which receives the rotating presidency of NAM and will not bring direct benefits to the country’s international relations. Canadian Jewish journalist and blogger, Eric Walberg, posted on his blog on August 22, 2012. “Egypt’s rapprochement with Iran is long overdue, held in check by the Mubarak regime’s toadying to the US and Israel. One of the first ships to go through the Suez Canal after the revolution last year, long before the MB came to power through its Freedom and Justice Party, was an Iranian warship. Even under Mubarak, the pressure to normalize relations was mounting, with trade increasing and normalization of relations between EgyptAir and IranAir. Full diplomatic relations are only a matter of months.”
Egypt along with India, Ghana, Indonesia and former Yugoslavia –were the founding members of NAM which was established at the height of the Cold War, in 1961 –to bring together nations that consider themselves independent of the world’s major power blocs. The organisation counts a total 119 countries plus the Palestinian Authority and 21 observer countries.

Humanitarian crisis after migrant worker exodus in India - Channel NewsAsia

Source: Channel News Asia

NEW DELHI: Whilst India celebrates the Muslim holiday of Eid, it is not a happy time for everyone. Almost 50,000 people of northeastern origin have been displaced in the past ten days by a fear of mob attacks against them in the rest of the country. They have been fleeing back to their homes in the northeast in such numbers that the media has been referring to it as nothing less than an exodus. The relief camps set up in the state of Assam are over crowded and teeming with people who have recently fled from different parts of the country. The people came because of rumours that they would be attacked by mobs belonging to another religion or because they received text messages with reportedly doctored images of massacred villagers. It was only after they returned home that they realised nothing was quite as it seemed. A state of confusion has been added to the initial fear, as the returnees are now unsure whether they should return to the jobs they hurriedly left.

Pakistan has denied any role in the matter. The Indian government meanwhile has banned bulk text messaging to stop the spread of disinformation. In Assam, the state where ethnic violence in July led to loss of life and damaged property, over 17,000 policemen have been deployed to maintain peace besides several columns of paramilitary and army personnel. In the refugee camps, the numbers are swelling. The people have no identity documents and no money, and it is fast becoming a huge humanitarian crisis for the local and central government. The problem is confounding because there are many levels. On one level, there is the tribal-Muslim conflict. The region borders Bangladesh so there is an international element as well. Then, there is regional politics as well. However, now the biggest crisis is of the hundreds of thousands of refugees living in terrible conditions in relief camps, and the need for them to be rehabilitated.

U.S., Israeli navies hold joint Med maneuvers in tense times

English.news.cn 2012-08-20 04:31:48 JERUSALEM, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) --Israeli and American naval counterparts spent the last week holding a joint search-and-rescue exercises in the Mediterranean Sea, which included live fire and seaborne helicopters landings. The "Reliant Mermaid" drill also tested the U.S. Navy's destroyer-mounted Aegis-missile defense system, which, theoretically, could defend Israel against Iranian missiles. However, the Americans were quick to point out that the annual drill -which, while not held for the last three years -was unconnected with the escalating psychological war of nerves between Israel and Iran. "Reliant Mermaid is a regularly scheduled exercise and is not associated with, or a reaction to any real world events," a Navy Public Affairs Office spokesman said. Between 2000 and 2009, this type of exercise was conducted annually, with another participant -the Turkish navy.

However, the drill was postponed following the 2010 Mavi Marmara incident, in which Israeli commandos battled and killed nine armed Turkish protesters, who were trying to break a maritime blockade over the Gaza Strip. Both parties, however, summarized the drill as a success and said it bettered military ties between the countries' navies. "This was a successful exercise which strengthened the bonds between the U.S. and Israeli navies and increased our ability to work together as a team," said American Commanding Officer David A. Bretz. "It was really great to get to see the differences between our navy and the U.S.," Israeli Navy Cpl. Niv Bar-Ilan told The Jerusalem Post. Lauding his American swabbie counterparts, Bar-Ilan said, "We' re very appreciative of the crew's hospitality and thank them for teaching us their individual jobs on board."

Syria at the mercy of the west's "Ministers of Terrorism"

Syria at the Mercy of the West'sl "Ministers of Terrorism"

Murder, sabotage, bribery, contract killings --and that’s just the behavior of Western political leaders and their Arab allies. Forget the fancy titles, manners and clothes --ongoing violence in Syria shows that the foreign policy of these powers is being conducted by terrorists and thugs in high offices. Which let’s one glimpse what level of barbarity is being perpetrated by the Western terror army, running amok in the streets and villages of Syria.

The latest display of criminality in high office is the call by French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius for the “smashing” of Syria and the killing of its president, Bashar al-Assad. The words may have been spoken with an eloquent French accent, but their practical meaning has all the savagery of cold-blooded bludgeoning. What we are seeing is a descent into barbarism and an open embrace of international lawlessness --by the same governments that appoint themselves to lecture the rest of the world on the principles of democracy and human rights. Reports and videos, showing that the Western-backed mercenaries of the so-called Free Syrian Army are bolstered by al-Qaeda brigades and other terrorists, have been greeted with barely veiled glee in Washington and European capitals. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice have pointedly refused to condemn the surge in bombing atrocities across Syria that have accompanied the influx of terrorists into the country over recent months. Indeed, Washington officials have effectively condoned such barbarities by their studied silence. Rice has even made statements, suggesting that more such atrocities will follow until the Syrian president does what her government demands and surrenders office. In mafia terminology, it’s called “making an offer he can’t refuse.”

The “terror” that Washington and other Western governments have promoted as the defining existential threat to democratic civilization over the past 10 years, has suddenly and seamlessly morphed into “war with terror” when it comes to Syria. And Western media that are intoxicated with hubris over supposed “free, independent thinking” do not even raise a timid question about this glaring contradiction. Indeed, these organs compound their intellectual bankruptcy with moral bankruptcy by concealing their government’s outrageous duplicity. However, for those with eyes, when it comes to Syria, the mask of Western pretence at defending international law and human rights has now been ripped off. The face revealed is a grotesque, salivating monster, whose motives are evidently selfish elite power and domination in the strategic Middle East region. And this objective is to be achieved by any means necessary --foremost by the collusion with bloodthirsty killers. In asserting their geopolitical objective over Syria, the Western governments are openly deploying terrorists and killers who supposedly were the reason, why Western governments spent trillions of dollars fighting foreign wars, invading and occupying sovereign countries, destroying millions of innocent lives, incarcerating and torturing thousands, and turning over democratic societies into draconian police states.

US President Barack Obama has time and again lauded American military veterans for their sacrifices in Iraq and Afghanistan. More than 4,500 US forces were killed in Iraq, thousands more maimed and psychologically destroyed, with record numbers committing suicide once back home in Civvy Street. In Afghanistan, the death toll continues to rise --with a spate of ‘green on blue’ attacks, in which Afghan security personnel turn their guns on American troops. How must the families in the Iraqi city of Haditha feel where, in 2005, US marines shot dead 25 inhabitants, including women and children? --Just one of countless other such massacres and war crimes. Why were they killed in the putative “war on terror” that has now become a US “war with terror”? Or how about the family of the 14-year-old Iraqi girl, who was gang-raped by an American platoon, which then butchered her broken body to cover up their crime? Or the families in Iraq’s Fallujah city, whose loved ones where incinerated with the Pentagon white phosphorus bombs during 2004-2005? What was that holocaust all about in the pursuit of a supposed war against terrorists, the same terrorists, who are now armed, trained, and directed by Washington, London, and Paris to overthrow the legal government of Syria? Or how about the thousands of unnamed villagers, killed in remote areas of Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia in continuing American drone attacks?

Syrian regime must be smashed fast.” He also called for Assad’s death. Elsewhere, it is reported that Qatar, the West’s Arab ally in the sabotage of Syria, has resorted to bribery to destabilize the government in Damascus. Apparently, the Al Thani royal rulers of the Persian Gulf emirate offered USD 1 million to the Syrian ambassador in Mauritania to defect, thereby attempting to tarnish Assad’s government. The Syrian Ambassador, targeted by the honey-trap, Hamad Albni, denounced the bribe as “blatant interference” in his country’s affairs. It was just the latest in a barrage of dirty tricks that Qatar and the royal rulers of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have engaged in against Syria, including bribing the nation’s Army ranks to dessert, fabricating news stories on Arab media channels, Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya, and jamming the satellite signals for the Syrian national broadcaster.

ster. The latter is a war crime, but don’t expect the Western crime bosses in office to bat an eyelid over that. This is on top of these billionaire rulers funneling USD 100 million from their own impoverished, downtrodden countries to pay for American and Israeli weapons and explosives that are being used by the Western terrorist army to kill and maim women and children across Syria. Meanwhile, Oxbridge-educated British Foreign Secretary William Hague announces with his ever-so-polite plumy accent that “Her Majesty’s” government is to supply an extra USD eight million to Syria. Not to help refugees or victims of Western-orchestrated violence, but to help the terrorists escalate their campaign of tearing that country.

apart and no doubt creating more refugees. Clinton, Fabius, Hague and their royal Arab friends may dress in fine clothes, speak with polished accents, and have manicured, scented hands. But make no mistake. They may not pull the triggers, slit throats, or switch the detonators. That’s for the goons on the ground to do and to keep the blood from appearing on those scented, lily-white hands of their bosses. In the Orwellian world of Western governments, these politicians are called “Foreign Ministers.” In the world of normative reasoning and language, they are known simply as “Ministers of Terrorism.” Finian Cunningham is a frequent contributor to Global Research.

Dr. Shaaban thanked China for its balanced and principled stance in support of the Syrian sovereignty, stressing the importance that all countries follow the lead of Russia and China in their accurate approach of the way out of the crisis. For his part, the Chinese minister expressed his country's unswerving rejection of imposing solutions on the Syrian people and foreign interference. Dr. Shaaban, interviewed by the China Daily, highly appreciated the stances of China and Russia on Syria which are "consistent with the United Nations Charter, international laws and ethical values, and are helpful to the peaceful resolution" to the crisis in Syria. "We're happy to see countries like China and Russia, who are not colonizers or deal with people as colonizers," added Dr. Shaaban criticizing the stances adopted by the west on Syria.

Dr. Shaaban reiterated Syria's commitment to dialogue and to the resigned Kofi Annan's six-point plan which 'should be translated into real action, not just talk. Dr. Shaaban pointed out that the armed terrorist groups continued their attacks against the Syrians not to mention the rejection of opposition to dialogue, saying that these groups are financed by certain powers and are not allowed to talk to the government, which would 'put not only Syria but the entire region in danger.' What happened in Libya cannot be repeated in Syria, and China's principles are helping to avoid civil war, which would cause more casualties, Dr. Shaaban underlined. Dr. Shaaban added that 'Opposition groups have the support of regional forces, and officials in those forces are putting their personal careers at stake,' pointing out that she does not agree with using the word "opposition" to define people "who are carrying arms and emboldened by external powers to kidnap, kill and destroy public institutions".

Dr. shaaban asserted that 'opposition groups in Syria have no backing among the Syrian people when being financed by different sources,' pointing out that some members of the so-called opposition parties have joined the government and parliament over the past year. Dr. shaaban described her visit to China as to give "the Chinese leadership a real picture of what's going on in Syria" and coordinate with China to solve the current crisis that has taken thousands of people's lives. Saudi Arabia: OIC suspends Syria’s membership, will take Rohingya case to UN

Saudi Arabia: OIC suspends Syria membership, will take Rohingya case to UN 16-08-2012 MAKKAH, (Arab News and Agencies): The Organization of Islamic Cooperation suspended Syria’s membership early on Thursday at a summit of Muslim leaders in Makkah, citing President Bashar Assad’s violent suppression of the Syrian revolt. In a closing statement, the OIC also decided to take to the United Nations the issue of Myanmar’s Muslim Rohingyas, displaced by deadly sectarian violence. It described as a “crime against humanity” the Myanmar government’s handling of minority Muslims and reiterated support for the Palestinians.

he statement by the 57-nation group said: “The conference decides to suspend the Syrian Arab Republic membership in the OIC and all its subsidiary organs, specialized and affiliated institutions.” The move had been approved on Monday at a preliminary meeting of OIC foreign ministers and was agreed on the summit’s second night despite opposition from Iran. The two-day emergency solidarity summit was held on Tuesday and Wednesday in the holy city of Makkah. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah presided over the meeting, attended by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad whose country has openly criticized the push to suspend Syria. Participants had agreed on “the need to end immediately the acts of violence in Syria and to suspend that country from the OIC.” The final statement said there had been “deep concern at the massacres and inhuman acts suffered by the Syrian people.”

OIC Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu told a news conference the decision sent “a strong message from the Muslim world to the Syrian regime.” “This world can no longer accept a regime that massacres its people using planes, tanks and heavy artillery,” he added. It was “also a message to the international community stating that the Muslim world backs a peaceful solution (in Syria), wants an end to the bloodshed and refuses to let the problem degenerate into a religious conflict and spill over” into the wider region, Ihsanoglu said. The emergency summit of the world’s largest Islamic bloc opened late Tuesday with the suspension proposal put forward by a preparatory meeting of foreign ministers, a symbolic attempt to pile pressure on Damascus over its deadly crackdown on a 17-month uprising. The move by the OIC, which represents 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide, is aimed at further isolating Assad’s embattled regime.

The meeting called for the “immediate implementation of the transitional peace plan and the development of a peaceful mechanism that would allow building a new Syrian state based on pluralism, democratic and civilian system.” It also urged the UN Security Council to “assume fully its responsibility by stopping the ongoing violence and bloodshed in Syria and finding a peaceful and lasting solution to the Syrian crisis.” The participants also stressed “the principal responsibility of the Syrian government for the continuation of violence and bloodshed.” Algeria, Pakistan and Kazakhstan had called for the final statement of the summit, to which Damascus was not invited, to also pin blame on the armed opposition for the bloodshed in Syria, according to informed sources at the summit. And Egypt’s President Muhammad Mursi proposed the formation of a committee grouping his country with key players Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey to try to find a settlement to the Syrian conflict, a delegate had said.

Strategic analysis in the context of Iran / Syria to follow the next time

I will think of Syria after attack on the opposite of proximal Turkey via Aleppo in the north and the south of France troops, the EU, NATO attack by U.S. / Israel, Syria in the second week of November, with air force and naval vessels. Israel will move with troops via the Golan to Damascus, then to use a proximal maneuver as a copy and follow in the attack on Iran.  Do not forget the wine message from Interfax in context Russian naval base of Tartus. -
The aspect in the context of Hezbollah, the Lebanon - North, the border of Gaza / Rafah to Egypt is not without value. Here are the weak point of the Israeli army 's defense ?  In the north, Hezbollah is firing rockets 60.000.
In Gaza, many Muslims are will attack Israel via Egypt/Rafah. No one knows the consequence of what it means to attack the U.S. / Israel and Iran and NATO .  China will never allow a lot of troops on its western boundary.
Nor should we forget the invitation of President Assad in the context of China in recent days .  China already knew from Syria's exclusion from the OIC ?
Two weeks ago, China has already sent two frigates into the Mediterranean via the Suez . 1 week later the UK and France before making maneuvers Cyprus -Turkey- Italy!
